Nervous System Regulation
Chronically dysregulated, stuck in fight-or-flight, or shut down? Using somatic work, breath, and yoga-informed practices, I help you understand your nervous system and build real tools to feel safe in your body again.
On the outside, it probably looks like you're managing everything. You're the one people count on, the one who keeps going, keeps giving, and somehow always figures it out. But inside, you've got parts of yourself that are exhausted, anxious, highly self-critical, overwhelmed, or won't allow your body to slow down no matter how hard you try. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, trauma, nervous system dysregulation, perfectionism, life transitions, and the unique challenges that often come with neurodivergence. Together, we'll make sense of these parts and what's happening beneath the surface so you can move from simply surviving to feeling more grounded, connected, and at home in yourself.

My style? Casual, warm, non-judgmental, and genuinely human. I'm the therapist who's often running in with the biggest Diet Coke I could find, probably apologizing because I cut it a little too close. I laugh easily, I swear like a sailor (when it's appropriate), and I don't believe therapy has to feel stiff or clinical to be deeply effective.
I do yoga to avoid my own crashouts and try really hard to practice what I preach. I value authenticity over perfection, and I want you to feel like you can show up exactly as you are. Whether you're polished and put together or barely hanging on, there's no version of yourself you have to become before you walk through my door.
I care deeply about creating a space where everyone feels genuinely welcomeβall identities, all backgrounds, all family structures, all ways of being. You belong here exactly as you are.
And while the atmosphere is relaxed, the work is anything but casual. My background in science and my love of understanding the brain and nervous system shape everything I do. I approach life from a secular, science-informed perspective, and I believe in using the best available evidence to guide treatment. That also means I'm open to integrating complementary approaches when solid research supports them. Every person is different, so I tailor therapy to fit the individual sitting across from meβnot the other way around.
I'm a bit of an unusual therapist. Before I became a counselor, I spent years as a college professor with a PhD in Biology. I taught future healthcare providers about the nervous system, stress responses, and the intricate connections between brain and body. I still teach β I love it, and I love working with young adults who are navigating their own big questions about life.
All that scientific knowledge became deeply personal when I started to process my own trauma and anxiety β and when I learned that my child is neurodivergent. I knew exactly what was happening in the nervous system, but knowing wasn't enough. I wanted to understand my daughter, to understand myself, and what I discovered was that therapy is incredibly powerful.
That's what drew me to become a clinician. I went back to school for counseling, and now I help others the way therapy helped me β at the intersection of hard science and genuine compassion. I still teach healthcare professionals, because I believe the best therapists never stop learning. Whether you're an individual struggling with anxiety, a couple trying to reconnect, or a parent navigating the complexities of raising a neurodivergent kid, we'll use evidence-based approaches that actually work.
Science-based, relationally-focused, and deeply human.
I draw from multiple evidence-based modalities tailored to your needs β and as a trained scientist, research isn't just a buzzword for me. It's the foundation. These are just some of the approaches I use:
And more β we'll find what works for your unique brain and needs.
Our work together is:
Explore the services that best fit what you are navigating: Anxiety Therapy, OCD Therapy, Trauma Therapy, and Couples Therapy.
Chronically dysregulated, stuck in fight-or-flight, or shut down? Using somatic work, breath, and yoga-informed practices, I help you understand your nervous system and build real tools to feel safe in your body again.
Generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, intrusive thoughts, compulsions. I use ERP, CBT, and somatic approaches to help you reclaim your life.
Single-incident trauma, complex PTSD, childhood trauma. I use IFS, somatic approaches, and evidence-based trauma processing to help you heal safely.
Parenting is hard β especially when you're raising a neurodivergent child or navigating your own triggers. As a parent of a neurodivergent kid myself, I get it. Let's find your footing.
ADHD, autism, learning differences. I provide neurodiversity-affirming therapy that works with your brain, not against it.
Identity exploration, coming out, relationship challenges, minority stress. A safe, celebratory space for all identities.
College students, early career, figuring out who you are. The transition to adulthood is messy and beautiful. I still teach college and love working with this age group.
For partners who want to reconnect, communicate better, or navigate a crisis. All relationship structures welcome. I use different techniques including Gottman Method approaches.
Loss, identity shifts, divorce, career changes, or major life milestones. Together we'll navigate the uncertainty and find your footing on the other side.
Nicole is the author of a children's book about Trisomy X β a chromosomal variation where a female is born with an extra X chromosome. This gentle, affirming story helps children and families understand and celebrate neurodivergence in a way that is accessible and warm.
