Hi, I'm Connie

Do you ever feel like you're just cosplaying as a “functional adult”—whatever that means—but feel lost or chaotic underneath that mask? Maybe you've gotten pretty good at holding it all together: showing up when you need to, pushing through the hard stuff, and trying to make sense of what you're feeling. Underneath it all, you may still feel overwhelmed, second-guess yourself, get caught in familiar patterns, or simply be trying to get your bearings in this weird, wild journey we call “life.”

Who I Work With

I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, neurodivergence-related stressors, emotional regulation troubles, relationship challenges, attachment wounds, and major life transitions or identity shifts. I also help couples who feel stuck in cycles of conflict, disconnection, or misunderstanding.

I bring a culturally responsive perspective to therapy and enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients, first- and second-generation immigrants, and individuals and partners exploring identity, belonging, and relationships across cultures. My approach is warm, collaborative, direct, and skills-focused, with practical tools for distress tolerance, emotional regulation, boundaries, communication, and coping.

My goal isn't to change who you are or tell you how you “should” feel. It's to help you better understand yourself, build on the strengths you already have, and develop tools that make life and relationships feel more manageable, connected, and intentional.

My Style ☕

For my fellow Potterheads, I think my style and approach gives off Hufflepuff vibes. (I'm here for the fandom—not the author or views that invalidate the human rights of members of our community.) If you don't possess any nostalgic ties to a particular fandom, I aim to cultivate the warmth and comfort of catching up with your weird friend over coffee—or whatever my caffeinated beverage of the day is.

I believe therapy can be meaningful without always having to feel heavy. I'm a big believer in humor when the moment calls for it, celebrating small wins, and being honest that change is rarely perfectly linear. Sometimes things can suck in the short term and still be helpful in the long term—coincidentally, this is also my attitude toward exercising or taking a “stupid nature walk for my stupid mental health.”

Transparency is important in my work. I'll tell you why I'm suggesting an intervention, invite your feedback when something isn't landing, and acknowledge when I don't know something. Most importantly, I don't see you as a problem to be fixed. There is room in therapy for difficult work, new skills, curiosity, and laughing at the absurdity of being a human being who is just trying to figure things out.

How I Work

Practical skills, deeper understanding, and room for your whole context.

My approach is primarily grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based approaches. DBT gives us practical tools for navigating intense emotions, tolerating distress, communicating effectively, and creating a life that feels worth living. Motivational Interviewing helps us explore the ambivalence that naturally comes with change. Through Solution-Focused and Strengths-Based work, we'll pay attention not only to what's difficult, but also to what's already working, what you've survived, and the strengths you can build on.

I also take a whole-person, whole-systems approach. Cultural and ethnic background, family and community, socioeconomic circumstances, religious or spiritual beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other aspects of identity can shape how you experience yourself and the world. Rather than making assumptions about what these things mean for you, I'll stay curious about your individual experience and how these parts of your identity intersect.
